Came in from G.I. 48J today. I saw two different very healthy looking turtles while on the platform for the past 3 days. Plenty of other wildlife also.
The Gulf of Mexico is huge! The oil coming from the BP blow out well has reached the Grande Isle area. The National Guard, local volunteers, etc. are constantly cleaning up the area. I hope they stop the flow from the well soon, but the wildlife will bounce back. IMO

Re: Bp!!!!
Just watched the video. I think the BP people should have been helping the turtle people save the turtles. Sounds like most of them were an endangered species.
Frustrating topic. I don't even want to imagine what crazy things BP is not letting go public.

Re: Bp!!!!
This isn't the first time that there have reports that BP has blocked ppl from rescuing or helping. Sad that they are making those decisions. :colbert:

I have to say that that's ridiculous. They made a mistake. BP made an oopsie. So now you will never buy from them again? Seriously? BP gas stations are basically mom and pop stores that had nothing to do with the oil spill, so you are actually hurting them. In fact, the less money you spend on BP, the less money they'll have to help with oil spill efforts. Boycotting BP is the most ridiculous thing I have heard of in my life.

Baloney, this isn't the first 'oopsie' they've ever made, they kind of have a history of putting profits before people. I personally will never buy another drop of gasoline from them either.

I too will never step foot in a BP gas station nor buy any gas from them EVER.
If they sell gas/oil to another company, I'll boycott them too.

Re: Bp!!!!
It's the fact that BP has completely destoryed the wild life for years to come. They try to catch the oil to stil make a profit instead of stoping the oil to protect the wildlife and the lively hood of my friends and family. I have 12 friends who's familys are out of a job because they can't fish to make a living. They care nothing about the people I have grown up with. They have caused dammage that will take decades to even start to recover from!

I don't know, maybe this is the original captain's interview. But if it is, I tend to think even less of this story than before. I still haven't seen anything reported on this supject. With all of the anti-BP talk going on these days, if this story was real, I would think it would be the top story on every news station and newspaper in the world.
