Well when I was depressed I started listening to "Somewhere I Belong" and it did make me feel better all the time. Now I just listen to it for the hell of it, still one of my favorite songs.

Well these aren't really songs that relate to me, BUT I have been listening to them since I was 10 so they are classics to me

'My Sweet Lord', George Harrison.
I just heard it on the radio and was immediately 'thrown back' to my religious instruction days.
The priest at my church was ancient (to me, at 12) and tried way too hard to relate to the pre-teens and seem 'hip'. During one class he explained that even rock stars like the Beatles sang about God and Jesus and were good Christians, then proceeded to play 'My Sweet Lord'.
When the song ended he asked for comments but was in no mood to hear me tell him that it was not the Beatles nor was it a song about (the Christian) God or Jesus. I pointed out it was instead about the Hindu religion/gods that George had been following for a few years and that the Beatles had broken up. I conceded it was indeed a religious song and a song about a God, but was not exactly how the priest had set it up for the class. He, loudly, told me that 'Hallelujah' was a Christian chant so the song was about Christianity. I countered with Krishna and Vishnu were Hindu gods and the whole end of the song, "Hare Krishna/Hare Krishna/Krishna Krishna/Hare Hare/Hare Rama/Hare Rama" was a reference to George's Hindu beliefs. He was NOT happy and promptly kicked me out of the class, then called my mother.
Every time I hear that song I remember that :)
