I am considering medical help possibly...
I went through something similar a couple of years ago. I felt depressed, constantly fatigued. There were some days I didn't think I was even capable of getting out of bed. Even though I worked out regularly, I was suddenly gaining a bunch of weight and started looking kind of bloated, and I always felt cold. I went and talked to my doctor (military ) and they ran a couple of blood tests. Their determination was that I was clinically depressed, had high cholesterol (345) and was borderline diabetic. So they put me on several meds, including anti-depressants, cholesterol pills, and some kind of high grade vitamins and stuff. I was popping these pills for 3 months and was only feeling worse. I got sent to talk to another doctor and after I told her what all was going on, she ran one blood test and found the problem. My Thyroid hormone levels were low. So now I take 1 little hormone replacement pill every morning and feel fine. The best thing I can tell you is go to WebMD and look at the symptoms of Hypothyroidism and see if that is what you are experiencing.

I'm not sure what your age is, but if you are in the 40+ bracket this may also be something to look into.

Re: being anti social
Oh man I can totally identify with you on this one, I blame my job but I have always been a little antisocial. Still now that I travel to various grocery stores all day and see the throngs of humanity completely consumed in "the Customer is always an :cens0r: ....errr I mean right."
Usually I walk around with a scowl mentally trashing most people I see. From the mom who won't shut her screaming kids up to the old fart who just won't get out of your way when your trying to work. Or the Moron who keeps asking you where the eggs are even when you keep telling him you don't work for the store and don't have a clue. Not to forget that everyone seems glued to there carts, no leaving them to go grab something and coming back no they have to try and push your unweildy cart aside. And thats just the customers not the braindead store managers.
So yeah...I've gotten ALOT more antisocial. Especially at work. I don't have a problem with it but if you do try getting out there more. If your of age booze generally makes me more social. Maybe try that.
((And by the way if the comments about how I feel about people at my job offended you. that wasn't intentional, but think about your job there's probably things that annoy you to. I guarantee if you had mine these things would wear on you.))

I went through very much the same thing. Freezing all the time bloated stomach. Couldnt lose weight for anything. Never went to a doctor. I chose to try certain suppliments and they have done wonders. I am not saying for anyone to do this but for me it worked. I also noticed by cutting out certain foods like caffien and lowering my sugar , can also help your mood.
My mood is better but I am still anti social. I cant find people close to me with the same interests.I think this is one reason for not wanting to be around people who only care about partying and and not doing things that are constructive. I just cant relate. I also find it hard to find people who are not just plain out right idiots. LOL
anyhoot just my thoughts on the subject

Re: being anti social
My suggestion is to go fishing.
Look to your health, first, of course--make sure your diet is good, and you don't have any other health issues (take a multi-vitamin if your diet isn't good). Might fix the issue.
But if you want to get away from people, and you think you might be depressed (lack of interest in normal activities, fatigue, etc), get away from people by going outside--get out into the sun in some natural place and rest. Go fishing. Camping. Something like that. You may find it to be a lot better than sitting in your room, and some sun may help your brain chemistry balance as well. That can be all it takes to clear up stress and temporary depression.
Of course, if all that doesn't work, see a doctor again, and explain the issue. Chronic depression can be a serious issue, and there's no reason to suffer with it when it can be treated.
Of course, if you're not depressed, but are just stressed...fishing still works. :D

Re: being anti social
Put it this way if i dont know you i aint gonna talk to you. I gotta know you in order for me to talk to you. I will say this though. After my near death crash i dont talk to a lot of people anymore. I talk to my girl and five of my closets friends. Im deff depressed about things that are happening if that helps you at all.

Re: being anti social
Depressed? Is that a self diagnosis? or a professional diagnosis? Just curious.

Yeah, if you're depressed...don't turn to the bottle.
However, I'm an introvert. I have what I call a mild case of social anxiety. (self diagnosed that one :P ) and don't do well with large crowds. Even in small crowds...I'm usually "the quiet one".
BUT, once I get a drink or two in me, I tend to loosen up a bit and chime in on the convo a bit more.
So, dc1, are you really depressed and anti-social? or really just have a case of social awkwardness? Took me a bit to realize there is a difference...but there is :)

I'm the same way, I just don't like people much. I've met VERY few that I actually enjoy being around. Sometimes, I can't even stand the stupidity of my own family. I'd rather be alone.

Re: being anti social
Well my diet has changed a lot. I was drinking close to 2 gallons of water a day now the coke and other various sugar filled drinks are slipping down my throat. Ive turned competly white from lack of sun. Not enough fruits or veggies, lots of fried foods... Maybe my change in diet is the key reason why Ive became this worthless hunk of me. I'ma hit the gym :)

Re: being anti social
If you're used to being in the sun alot and you suddenly stopped, that might be a reason. I know with some people, the vitamins they get from the sunlight makes them much happier. Most of the time it's why people lay in tanning beds during the winter, since they're not getting much sun.
