I've heard of them found in speakers. I've heard of them found on the kitchen floor seven months later real skinny, so no, I don't think he would go right to where he usually gets fed.

check behind furniture thats pushed up against the wall. they be able to climb that. they like tight spaces. and sometime they're right in front of your eyes. so be calm patient, and you will find it.

i dont know if hes in my room, or if he somehow got into the baseboard heating (even tho i dont think he would and i didnt see any places that exited)

if hes in my room thats one thing, but if hes in my HOUSE thats a major prob. i cant keep checking everywhere

i ordered snake traps, little hide lookin things that have glue stuff on them... but after their stuck u spray with vegetable oil and they come off...

I have no experience with this, but I've never heard of using those traps, and I wouldn't. Sounds messy and there are probably better ways to trap them. Heck, a plain hide sitting along the wall might work better. When I clean, I just put a hide on the carpet nearby and set the snake near it, because I know exactly where he's going to go.

ok that sounds good.. i have about 4-5 hides in my collection all the same ones he has used before.... i will put one on the first floor, one in my bedroom, one in the upstairs hall, and maybe the other 2 each on one floor..... sounds like a good plan. iwill sprinkle flour in front of the hides to see if he actually goes in them

thanks man, good idea. i will put some tuna fish oil on the hides to scent...

Please don't use glue traps to catch your snake. That stuff is a lot harder to get off than you would think. Plus the snake can suffocate if it sticks to it in the wrong position whole struggling. Look in the same places over and over. Make your way from one side to the other, leaving no place unchecked. Repeat every couple hours and it works every time. It can be very frustrating but you have to be determined. Don't just sit around and wait. Doesn't usually work, plus the longer its out, the higher the risk of accidentally stepping on it, sitting on it, etc.

Usually they're close by. But they can squeeze themselves flat and get under doorways you think they can't. Is he a climber, or does he always head for the floor? Ball pythons that like to climb will tend to find hiding spaces higher up; ball pythons that don't like to climb will tend to find spaces on or near the floor. They hide in closets, under cabinets, between the backs of books and the bookshelf, in drawers, and in the tight space between our expandable dining room table and the wooden leaf that we keep stored underneath the table top. The best one was a snake that found an open hole in the back of a stereo speaker, crawled in and took a nap while I panicked for 4 hours straight.

If you can't find him by nightfall, turn all the lights out and wait quietly for a 1/2 hour. Then start in the room you lost him in, and go around the house tiptoeing and listening. Listen in each room for 5 or 10 minutes. They're not actually silent--you can hear them crawling and bumping around. (That's how I found the one in the closet.)

Try to find warmer spots for the hides if you can. And I've also heard that running a dead mouse along the baseboards is a good way to lure them with scent.

And put out a water bowl while you're at it, and put some flour around it, too.
