Crazy Heating Fluctuations!

I have a glass cage with screen top with green terrarium liner. I've been using a wet/damp towel on the screen top to control humidity. It's been working pretty good so far.

so I got the acu-rite and a dimmer from lowes
i put the acu-rite between the glass and the eco carpet. and it has 2 temperatures on it.
am i suposed to be lookin at the one that says "in" or "out"?

The "out" reading is take at the probe. The "in" reading and the humidity are taken at the unit itself.

oh boy...the out says 108 :( i plugged it into the light dimmer and lowered it a bit. we'll see if that helps

Also humidity is measured by the unit it self, not the probe. :)
