Not sure who will remember, but about a month and a half ago, my little male het pied went Houdini and escaped and went outside and down a drain for 2 weeks only to be flushed out by a small flood we had.
Well....
My female het pied decided she was sick of her house and split today. Or maybe last night I am not entirely sure. Can't find her anywhere. Whats crazy is how she got out. :bolt: I have everyone set up on a fogger system that I have plumbed to each tub. Well, she managed to dislodge then remove the plumbing and squeeze out a half inch hole. She is around 1000g! I don't know how she managed but she is good. This isn't her first escape either. Just first one that I haven't been able to find her within the first few hours. And I will admit before it was my fault letting her get out where I messed up, but I had no clue she was a journeyman plumber so I didn't see this one coming lol.
Today was feeding day so I set a couple live hoppers out in a wire cage next to a hide to see if I can entice her to come out from where she is hiding.
Wish me luck on the hunt for this one!
You seem to have a lot of escapes going on. Have you thought about changing your set up to make i more secure? I would have after the first 1 escaped.

Yeah I am changing everything. First one was my fault definitely because I didn't put the lid on the tub correctly. This time, the snake managed to unhook the plumbing that had been fine for over a year now. Still my fault, but not something I could really see coming

Thank you! Still no luck as of today. Hopefully she will get hungry soon and start searching for the live hoppers in wire cages I have placed. It has been raining the last couple days, but no floods yet, but I wish there was! That seemed to bring the last one back. --- How lucky would that be? Two floods at the perfect time in the middle of the desert

Re: Sharing my frustration
do you have a problem with simple physics? i mean an enclosure only has 6 sides and all you need to do is make sure that all 6 sides are intact, it doesnt seem like rocket science. and if you ask me, which you didnt but ill tell you anyway, its not in a ball pythons nature to go walkabout unless theres something wrong with his environment. in nature, ball pythons are little more than a extra long sausage with a head. they stay in their hide and wait to ambush. only moving OUT OF NECESSITY. my ball python has *NEVER* tried to escape for no reason. the times when i have found him rubbing against the glass, testing it for weaknesses, its been because he's dirtied his cage, or his temps were too low/high, he didnt like his hide or the humidity was way off. i'd guess he might try and hunt if he were absolutely starving but im never going to let my snake starve. i forgot to close the enclosure once before bed, and didnt check in the morning. 16 hours later he was still in his hide, because he knows thats the best place to be.
seriously, i worry for the health of all of your snakes.:(

I was thinking along the same lines.
I get a bit perturbed when I read stories of people's ball escaping time and again. A snake will only ever escape if you have allowed it to to find a way.
Get your setups secure. Use a pen and poke it around each enclosure, if the pen fits through any gaps then your enclosure is not secure.
Hope your ball comes back/you find it, I'd be screwing a nut if any of mine escaped and I did not find it within 5 minutes or within 5 meters of its enclosure....

Re: Sharing my frustration
It's possible to get a point across without talking down to people.
The OP said he realizes he has a problem is going to build a new rack.
People aren't allowed to be *human* anymore? :confuzd:
