Well found the camera but the card is with my wife and she is out of town. Ill try to post it in the future when I get ahold of it. Cutting Edge Herp is showing expected litters in Aug. Checking Kingsnake today there is 2 pairs of adult breeders if you want to go that route. I really want another one as well and if the right one comes along I dont think I could resist.

I got mine from Vin Russo at Cutting Edge. To find the availablity list on his website you have to look at the column on the right hand side, then scroll all the way down until you see "Boa and Ball Python Availability" and click on that. Rio Bravo doesn't have their availability posted. It is best to contact both of them directly by e-mail or phone and tell them what you are interested in, and they will tell you what they have available, or, are expecting to be born...

Hello, everyone! New to this site. Anyway, I picked up a trio of Caulker babies in January from Ben Seigel. Then I picked up a giant 6' female from Glades Herps about a month or so ago. I went with the Caulkers because I also thought that they would grow to only about the size of balls also. This isn't the case! even the dwarf boas grow larger than balls, and require larger caging. In other words, don't plan on housing adult females in 41 qt tubs! Three weeks ago I ordered a 4x2x1 cage from Animal Plastics. That being said, these snakes are great!! My female is a big lap-dog. Great pet. The 3 babies have only occassionall been a little hissy and nippy, but only when in shed or if surprised. If I ignored the threat display & grabbed the snake anyway, they calmed right down. I've had a lot more attitude from a few of my balls. They also seem to be sometimes picky feeders like balls, grow even more slowly, and are shy and stay in their hides like balls. Once out, you don't hold them, they hold you! You can almost wear them like jewelry. Great snakes!

Haven't figured out how to post the pics yet. Maybe Robbie at Glades Herps has some of her, and could help us out. I've only had her for about 5-6 weeks now. I'll try and get ahold of him monday to see if he has any to post. If not, maybe I can get a friend to help me out.

First, you will need to upload your photos to your Gallery on this website or to a photo hosting website like Photobucket, Flickr, etc...

-Open up the Reply window to the thread you want to post them in.

-Open a separate internet browser window and go to the site where your photos are posted.

-Usually below the photo, you will find some URL links or codes. Look for the one that begins with [IMG]. Highlight and copy this entire code then paste it in your "Reply" window.

-Click on the "Preview Post" button to see if the photo becomes visible. If it does click "Submit Reply". If not, then double check that you copied the right code or the entire code. The end of the code should be [/IMG]...

Here is a link to a video tutorial also. Hope this helps...

    Hello,

I have a Cay Caulker Boa that is almost a year old now and have had him for almost 10 months. He is so tiny, I still have him in a shoebox size plastic storage box with a secure lid. The first month or so I had him he hissed whenever I opened his enclosure, but he has now calmed down to be very docile. I originally got him for the same reason, I liked the coloration and did not want a boa that got too huge. I got mine from Vin Russo, Cutting Edge Herp, he obtained his animals from Gus Rentfro. Any Caulker Cay boa in the United States should have a paper trail back to Gus Rentfro, as he has been the only one within the U.S. to legally obtain these boas.

The temp and humidity parameters are similar to the ball python as well. I keep a hot side 90-92F and the cold side 80-82F. Humidity between 60-80% seems to be doing well for him. The main difference is that they will eat less at a time and less frequently than a ball python. During the warm months, I have been feeding hopper mice every two weeks. Young snakes can be fed once every month during the winter. The key is to not overfeed, and stick with smaller meals for a while. They should keep their thin appearance (when compared to pythons and other boas), adult males will only be as thick as a broom handle! Good luck.

I forgot to include a pic of my Cay Caulker. It was taken recently, but sorry about the quality. It was taken with my camera phone.

Nice looking little guy. I have one of his brothers from the same litter and he is still tiny also. I've been feeding large rat pinks evey 10 days and I'm about to move him up to fuzzies...
