I like them because the entry hole is offset, which allows more security to the snake once it is in the hide.

This is the exact reason i like them so much, also the fact that they are black helps keep your tubs looking a little better than a bunch of cereal bowls. Although i am using cereal bowls right now, i use the reptile basics hides for my adult ball pythons

Re: reptile basics......
I have 4 BPs with mediums, but they are all Juvi's except for one male, he is around 900g+. He still squeezes into a medium, But Im gonna buy him a Large soon. The smalls are TOO small for a BP, they grow out of it very quick.
Here is RBI rack with medium hides. The adult male is in the 3rd tub from top to bottom.
Yes I have RBI racks and hides, they are made out of 1/16 thick ABS material, being non-porous they are easy to clean.
I only use RBI products. Everything my snakes have came from Rich, except some hides I got from a friend.
The products from RBI are second to none in my opinion.

Since we are talking about RBI here, I have a question. Does their 28/32qt rack and 41qt rack use the same flex-watt when used with belly heat? what I'm really asking is if they could be used with the same thermostat?

I have both the cb-70 and the sweater box racks all on a single helix. they all are close in temps. I check with a fluke temp gun.

This is probably stupid question but why not make your own hides from a cardboard box? Or is it because it looks better?

I agree, and I think it also keeps it darker on the inside and the snakes don't seem to stress as much if the hide is a little large...

Well you would have to keep replacing them as they start absorb feces and other stuff and building bacteria on it.

I bought a extra large one for Fat Nico, and although she can barely fit, she LOVES it!!!!
