im an animal lover so IMO, either 1 or 100, they never stop being pets, though some big breeders might disagree.

alright keep it commin and i agree Winged wolf. this in a nut shell is what i want to know

    1. if you breed is it a "fun job" but aside from breeding no contact unless needed-snakes have no name

2, if you breed, is it somthing just to cover costs, they DO have names, get handled, and come out to chill

3, they have seem to become just a breeding thing and money is made and its worth it..

if that makes any since, lol

they will always be my pets reguardless of how many i have, now as for breeding, i do it as a hobby to grow my own collection, whether it be keeping, selling and or trading.

None of the above for me, none fit completely. Closest is number 1, but they all have names (it's only takes me 5sec to think of one so they have one). And they do come out to chill once in a while, but I do breed them for money, not just to cover cost. It's a fun job, that also involves my pets.

Just because you have 100+ doesn't mean they become things that you just enjoy, and never love and handle.

Exactly, people that have dogs or cats breed them, and no one questions them weather or not the dog or cat is a pet!
They are pets with benefits! ;)

I call certain snakes my "pets" and others my "breeders".

I did not intend to get my biggest BP girl for breeding when I first got her, so she is my breeder and my pet. The others are mostly just breeders since I'm not just owning them for the fun of owning snakes.

The Kenyan Sand boas I get will be my breeders, not pets.

My Dumeril's boa is my pet, but will be my breeder, but she was bought for breeding.

It's a little bit confusing, and they are all my pets, but most of them I would just consider breeders since that is their purpose for me having them.

I can only speak for myself as I'm not a "big breeder" but have a very exstensive collection. I consider every single animal in my collection as a pet. They are given the upmost care and all are handled on a regular basis. This includes my first dragon/BP to the ones I do breed to the babies I hatch every year. I consider them all my pets and are cared for as if I were keeping everyone of them. The only time they are no longer my pets is when they have found new homes with people that care for them as I did and are now "their pets"(and even then I still like hearing from their new owners on how they are doing). I care for all my animals and yes I breed and make money but that comes low on my list of things that are important, as the care and quality of life for the animals is #1.

It doesn't matter how many snakes I have or will get. All of them are my pets. Everyone has a name. Even the babies I will produce will have a name while in my care before I sell them. I only have 11 snakes (plus 2 I'm housing for a friend) but the way I feel or care about my snakes will not change no matter how many snakes I have.

(Hope that makes sense. I literally just woke up 5 minutes ago)

I have no plans to ever make money off my snakes. I breed to produce cool animals, and I will have to sell some due to space restrictions. Now if I can get a little extra cash to help pay for rats and housing, great, but they will all, always be my pets.
