I did a lot of research before investing in my boa. I had lots of concerns that got cleared up on that forum. Great resource, but not so great for newbs with all the moderation and such. Hard to get replies to your posts and replies when there is about a 24 hour delay while waiting for the moderation process.

    Yeah, I hear ya.
They have some really big hide boxes available for boaphile and AP cages on Animalplastics.com
They're really neat in design too.
Other hides that are good and are different in design are the reptile basics hides: http://www.reptilebasics.com/hide-boxes/

That's it! I currently use a small cat litter pan for mine. I got tired of finding boxes the right size and throwing them out when they got soiled. The small cat pan was perfect, I off centered the entrance and it was only $3 and dishwasher safe :) I wanted to order the ones on reptilebasics, but I'm cheap.

I am at work and odnt have much time :( I own 2 balls right now have had many corns so I am not new to snakes and I know this is a big step up but I am ready to learn and provide him with a new home. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Care would be pretty much the same for a baby RTB as for a BP. They generally prefer higher humidity. I keep mine at 60%/70%. A warm side of 90*.

For feeding remember RTBs do better and live longer when slow grown. For babies to about 1 1/2 yrs old every week is fine. After that every 2 to 3 weeks is all that is needed. An over fed RTB tends to build more fat instead of muscle. Power fed RTB are known to not live very many years. The prey should leave a barely visible feed lump.

A baby can be kept in a tub or small tank. Heat source must be controlled by a thermostat. Adults dont need hides and usually will not even use them. A boa that is exposed to more activity is going to be more calm and tame anyway.

The best enclosure for an adult is a 4ft-2ft display cage. Animal plastics, boaphile etc.. These are also very easy to heat and maintain humidity.

I keep my red tails at about 90-92 hot spot 65-70% humidity, also i feed all my boas no matter the age every other week.
