Well if there is a local reptile show near you. You can always go and buy feeders there for a lot less.

Your closest show will probably be Columbia in June. There are a few in AL, not sure what part of SC you are from. That would 100% be your cheapest way to get FT. Generaly show admission is between $5-10. Keep one thing in the back of your mind....BP's sometimes can be extremely hard to get feeding on FT. They are notorius for being picky eaters.

If it does turn out to be that buying online is cheapest for you, buying 6 months worth at a time from one of the better suppliers, which I have already seen listed here, you really won't have to worry about them going bad.
The well packaged ones will easily stay good for 6 months in the freezer. And even if they don't come that well packaged, it's not too difficult to buy some of the heavy duty freezer bags and repackage them yourself, which I have done now and then when a bag would get a rip or tear.
I've bought 6 month supplies at a time for the last couple years and never run into a problem :)

Also, to note, my past few purchases have been from Rodent Pro and Mice Direct.

When I do my own I vacuum seal them in numbers that I will use all in one day. This way they are always air tight until I thaw them.
