    I would say get a hold of helix and talk to them. they have great products and I am sure they will stand behind them. Even if it is something that you damaged some how (not saying that you did, just saying its possible) I bet they can repair the unit cheaper then the purchase of a new one.

    You said in your original post there was some exposed wires on the outlet side of the plug wire. theres 2 wires don't mix them up splice one, wire nut it and tape 1" down wire from over wire nut. Repeat on other. Then tape them up together. electrical or c130 tape.
