So did you measure the UTH and the dimensions were smaller then what they advertise on their website? If so then I wont be ordering from them.

I would try it first. Remember they need a hot "spot" of 90-92*. It may work just fine. The heat will travel the glass very well too and will heat a much larger area than the pad itself. It will gradually cool off away from the pad. I would put it in the middle of one half of the tank bottom. Give it a try before ordering something else. Leave it on for about 24-48 hours and check your temps, you may be surprised :O

Before everybody starts bashing a company for their sizes of UTH, think about this. That UTH she ordered is probably for a 40 gal tank, probably an aquarium style that would measure somwhere around 36L X 14W X 18H.
She probably has a 40 gal breeder style reptile tank which probably measures 36L X 18W X 14H. Before I get any UTH's I measure my enclosures floor dimensions and look for a size that will cover 1/3- 1/2 of the floor...

After re-reading the thread again I see that they sent you the wrong one, see if they will exchange it if need be...

    Re: my setup
i have measured my terrarium (not tank) & its 30 x 12 x 12 (slightly smaller then a 20 gal, or so im told). the UTH was supposed to be 14 "L x 8 "W which would sufficiently be almost 1/2 of the terrarium's length. the UTH i ended up receiving is smaller lengthwise then my 12 in. ruler. the package said 30-40gal size but theres no way that UTH is even big enough for a 10 gallon tank. well maybe it might be, but it sure doesnt look like it. i think that UTH may have been in the wrong packaging, hey it happens. ive called reptile supply about their UTH's & they gave me the # to hagen, the company that makes their UTH's. Hagen assured me their UTH's are in fact the size they're said to be.
