    Re: Bp eggs sinking
My very first clutch of eggs was worse than those and most of them made it. In the VPI book they incubated 2 egg groups. one with high humidity and one with low humidity. about half way thru they took half the eggs from each clutch and placed them with the others. meaning half the low humidity ones were place in with the high humidity ones and half the high humidity ones placed in with the low ones. The ones that was changed half way thru didn't do well. but the ones that started out low and high humidity with no change came out ok. their point was if you make changes, make small changes, the eggs seem to adjust to the conditions around them. and big changes had bad effects to the eggs. what I did on my second clutch and all the rest of my egg clutches after my first was simple. I used perlite with the grate that you have in the picture. I used lots of water in the mixture. what made the big difference is instead of using the lid, I used glad press n" seal, air them out about once a week depending on how many eggs and size of egg box. the last 10 to 14 days I peel a corner back to let air in. but just a small hole so you don't lose too much humidity. the press n' seal made a huge difference. don't use saran wrap or any others use press n" seal. Good luck, don

i had a my firsdt clutch really dry up and they all made it I was told to cut on day 53 (roughly) since i didn't keep good records. also remember they start to dimple some when they close to hatching so it is a good sign that they did so you should be ok if you keep the eggs damp.
