I know how hard it is to be patient! ughh... ive had mine for 6 days and not only that but hes shedding and due for a feeding.. so im gonna have to wait two weeks probably before i can handle him:/ but its worth it to not stress him out...

i gotta say tho.. he is one tolerant snake... Moved homes during a shed! never even tried to strike me. what a sweetie..

anyways... wont be long now.. :]

Snakes are honestly very fine with NO handling.

But leave him alone for 7 days straight. and for 2 days after each meal or you risk regurg.

Then you can start once or twice a week 10 minute handling sessions. Gentle, relaxed, let him set the pace.

Sorry if I sounded harsh, Happy herping.

If you haven't already, check out the caresheet on this site. There is a whole why won't my snake eat section that might be able to help :)

If you got the snake not long ago it is probably stressed. Just give it some time and refrain from handling until it starts eating consistently.

All your doing is stressing your snake out. Hes in a new place let him get used to the place before you go and start to hold him. If he hisses thats a sign of leave me alone, thats what i would do

LOL, well i HAVE been handling him and he ate another 2 mice tonight, so i guess hes not stressed. Have been talking with several breeders and have gotten some excellent advice.

Good for you. Dont want to sound rude but i could care less. You came in chat seeking advise. We told you ways to fix your husbandry and make it so your snake would not be stressed you took it as we were out to get you and that were rude for telling you that you have done everything wrong.. There is nothing wrong with holding him after he settles in.

You do what u want. But when he stresses out i will tell u i told you so :gj:

One thing you should keep in mind... The more rude and judgmental you are to someone, the more they're going to rebel against your advise. She's coming here for advice. Alot of people that are new to the hobby will come here, and they will all ask the same questions. If the members were rude to you like you were to her, would you have stuck around and followed our advise?
