Baytril may not be strong enough. You might talk to the vet about piggy backing Forataz (sp) with the Baytril. Baytril is a mild antibiotic and is used for only certain kinds of infections mainly the ones that require oxygen to live. That's why its used in RI's most often.

The swelling could be anything from an abscess the was kept in check by the antibiotics to a broken tooth that has gotten infected, It could also be that there was some debit in the mouth or nasal passage that have irritated the tissue to swelling..
