Some sort of UTH, I'd imagine. Lights / CHEs / RHPs would really dry out the enclosure.

yes, belly heat is the way to go. What I have always done with my baby snakes is buy the adult enclosure with belly heat and a heat emitter, and then keep the baby in an appropriately sized tub placed inside the big enclosure half on and half off the heated part of the floor. Carefully monitoring temps IN the tub of course. This creates an environment where the tub has both good ambient and floor temps.
Anyway, this method should work for me again this time and give me the high humidity a BRB needs until it's old enough to tolerate 80%, which I have practiced maintaining in the adult enclosure with great stability.

Anyone want to post pics? I'd love to see both animals and setups!

oh, and please do tell what it was like taming your BRB! I know to expect getting chewed on, so how many times a week did you handle and how long did it take to become bite-free?
    thanks again!!!

The male I got as a juvie never tried to bit me once. Both females are really tame too, the one you just have to be smart with and not startle her.

what are the differences between male and female? Are females bigger in this species? What are the differences in sizes?
    Are there temperament differences?

I ordered a new Boaphile cage last night (my 3rd) but the little BRB will live in a 5qt tub until the humidity requirements drop.

We have a female BRB she is pretty cool. We got her from Neil Golli back in Dec 06. She is at a friends house on a breeding loan. She always stayed away from the uth heated area of her tank. Our house temp most of the year is 78 so after a couple of years of her never using the hide over the heat I unpluged it and she does great. She always eats and sheds perfectly. I give her a large water bowl and moist reptibark as substrate. She has not bit or tried to bite since we have owned her. All and all she is a joy.
