    Just a couple things...

Lose the analog gauges, and get some digital ones with a probe.

The hide looks a little big for a baby, get a tighter one...and add an identical one to the other side.

How are you heating the cage? And how are you regulating that heat source?

lol...there are some babies out there that like to try to tell you who the boss is!!;) I have one like that ....she still acts like that ....trying to be all "hard core"...I just laugh at her. Still has never followed through with a bite.

    Couple of things....

2 small tight hides 1 on each side of the tank

Get yourself an acurite thermometer...wally world...$12....greatest thing ever and it will tell you the humidity as well.

If you are having problems with humidity...foil off the top of the tank to assist in keeping the humidity in and you can spray a couple times a day.

Get yourself an under the tank heater and it will need to be controlled by a thermostat. You can check out some at www.reptilebasics.com or just do a google search for yourself. Some places will tell you that you do not need a thermostat.....you do!!

Hope this helps you and doesn't frustrate you even more.....once you get everything set up and your sassy pants calms down....you will soooooooo fall in love!!

Ditto with BPelizabeth: ditch the dials and get a digital thermometer/hygrometer. The analog thermometers can be off by ten degrees or more. Not good!

Also, I don't see a heat source. Mucho importante. Get an undertank heater, if you do not have one, and put it on one end of the enclosure. This, along with another hide opposite to your existing one, gives your BP the choice to either be cooler or warmer. That might be why he's cranky! lol
EDIT: I DO see a cord coming from the underside of the tank, but which side is the UTH stuck to?

The second hide is very important, and the smaller the better! They loooove a tight squeeze - it makes them feel more secure. A happy snake, is an eating snake.

I agree that some decor is nice, but the branch you have in there is not necessary. A piece of wood of that height is more for arboreal snakes (tree climbers), and BPs are terrestrial (ground dwellers). After removing the branch, you may have enough room for a second small hide (note: the two hides should be identical; this way, they don't have to choose over a favorite). :) After this, some crumpled newspaper, and some time alone, you should have a happy BP. Oh, and humidity! Cover 3/4 of the tank lid with tin foil and spray a couple times a day.

Sorry for such a long post - just trying to help. Good luck! :gj:
