Re: should i even try.....
I would not try a mouse. Count yourself lucky that you have a rat eater. I need to try and switch mine over. Personally, I would not risk him liking mice too much and not going back to rats.

well the tank in a perfect square.... i believe it is 25 gallons... and are u sure i should leave it in there for that long. that kinda seems like a long time. the rat will be all stiff and cold.. lol

alright... ya the last thing i wanted to do is go back to mice cause they lack the nutrition that rats have....

I have done it many many times with my picky eaters. They usually eat once no one is in the room and it is completely dark.
Also, mice aren't really "less" nutritious than rats. There are many people that feed only mice and their snakes are perfectly healthy.
Re: should i even try.....
ok i will try that on monday.... his last meal i put the dead rat in there and i walked out of the room for like 5 minutes and i came back in and the rat was no where to be seen. he ate that thing so fast. i couldnt believe it.

my suggestion is to stop pulling your snake out of its enclosure when you feed him. it sounds like he's getting to stressed to eat when you handle him.
i'm glad to hear he ate for you.
