    Sound and solid advice.

If he's broken, as seems to be the case, then getting mad at him really is just wasted emotion.

You're ok, Jerome is ok, the rest is just gravy.

Yeah, there is a lot of homeless people that are.. well.. don't have too much going on in the head.

At my family restaurant in Tempe we see homeless people kind of often (digging through our trash can.. hey, free food, you're at a restaurant so that's the right place to be digging in). It's really sad, but some of them are kind of.. not there. We had this one throw our newspaper stand through one of our stained glass windows someone made for us a long time ago. It happened during the night. Luckily nothing was stolen but the window had to get replaced.

After typing out an incredibly long and wordy cathartic response I promptly (or not) timed out.

    :rage:

So I guess this is the part where I go.... and stand... over there.

Catharsis is good. And it matters not one bit if anyone knows you've had a cathartic experience as long as you've gotten out what needed to be out.

You can't change what happened and you can't fix what's broke.

Don't dwell on it and you'll feel better. There is no winning the "what if" nor the "I should" fights. Not with this guy.

I HATE it when that happens. That's why I just stay logged in whenever I get on the site, it's a lot easier.;)

I'm glad they caught the guy. It will be difficult to work through the emotions, but you will get through it. I can definitely understand the hatred, anger and pain. As part of my PTSD therapy, I have to sit and talk with Muslims once a week, and believe me, it is not an easy thing for me to do...

He also admitted to burning down a bank of condos that were uninhabited, a friend of ours lived there as well.

Guess he decided for round two that he would put murder a bit lower on his list.

I am sort of apathetic, sort of raging inside, sort of paralyzed. I will pick one and stick with it over the next few days.

I want to decide whether I hope he gets help or not, but not quite there yet.

I don't know how you handle the mentally ill in your country, but a long time ago we here in the USA closed the asylums and turned them loose. No home no help. NOTHING. This was considered humane since the asylums were so many times abusive. Both things were wrong to do.

I don't know the percentage but so many times the 'homeless' are mentally ill and needs somewhere safe to be. I don't know why no one can see this.
