Ahahah, I do the exact same thing. I go home, take her out, and say, "Don't worry, you're the prettiest BP I'll ever have."

... She doesn't yet know that I intend to get more in the future.

Is it possible to put a down-payment on the snake, and then save money until you can pay it off in full?

I mean, if it truly is the animal of your dreams and you honestly don't think you will find another like it in “1000 years,” than it would be worth a shot to ask.

In the US you can sell blood, right? Kidding. Well, kind of. I would not advocate anybody going into debt over a 'want', unless you are really, really sure about it. Only you can decide that.

But if, in the end, you cannot get it, than know that the future isn't written in stone. You never know; maybe in a year or two, when you've saved more money, a snake will come along that has an even greater impact on you. That kind of thing happens all the time, and not just with snakes.

True story: Last xmas I got upset because I missed out on getting an XBox 360 that went on sale (online only, but I forgot to log in that day and they sold out) -- but a couple weeks later one of the Xbox 360 bundle packages went on sale for the same price, and it included the wireless adapter (regularly $70 by itself) and 2 games, one of which I really wanted and usually cost $50 by itself.

Man, I would have been so ticked if I had spent the same amount of money on just the console alone.

Don't sweat it. If there's one, there's more. If you can't afford it now, it will be cheaper in the future. Look at what Albino Ball Pythons sold for 5 years ago. Now look at their prices. Think how smart you are to not buy that expesnive morph today when you can buy it in 5 years for a LOT less.

See, you didn't realize how smart you really are.:gj:

Thanks for all the replies guys!

Truthfully, I can live without the snake, I just hate to admit that fact.

And just like some of you, I went and cuddled my favorite snake for a little while, and suddenly the one I couldn't have didn't seem quite so important.

Not to mention, I still have my beautiful low white pied boy, who will someday be my foundation sire, and the reason I'll be able to produce many morphs that other people will want, so I can be content with that.

It does suck. I feel that way every time I look at BHB's stock. The only thing that is worse is when you have the funds and call about a snake and it just sold or no longer available. That is the biggest dissapointmant.

You find a ball morph for sale, and this snake just blows your mind. If you live to be a hundred, you'll never find another one like this. The price is really reasonable, but you can't afford it even so. :(

So you stare at the pictures, you sigh and moan, you try and come up with a way to get the cash, but there isn't one. Nothing legal anyway.

Someone else will get this dream snake, and you just have to live with that. I want to know, how do you convince yourself to forget about it ? :tears:
