I think a lot of the reason they are underrated is that there are a lot of ugly hypos out there... There have been combos using hypos for a very long time, such as caramel glow and honeybee. Yeah, there are a handful of newer ones, but I think there is a bit more to it than that.

I have a hypo pair and I don't know what I want to do with them. I was thinking about pairing the two or pairing my male to a lesser and then one of the lesser het hypo males to my female hypo. They are interesting but not that interesting. And do all hypos produce honey bees? Has anyone crossed two hypo lines? (meaning two double hets paired and hitting 1:16)

I look forward to looking with some hypo, and personaly am a fan of your web site, gonna have to tune in soon....
I am not so sure of the lines of ghost would be something i would be very selective in picking out because there are so many ugly hypos out there....

I love orange ghosts and have had them for years. Spent close to $2,000 on my first one back in the day.

EVERYTHING looks better with hypo. Right now i am working on orange hypo; bumble bees, honeybees, pewters, cinnies, mojaves, pastaves, pogs, spogs and fireflies.

Never saw a hypo combo I didnt like, they clean everything up.

    Definately underated.

Most of the ghosts we produce are from our own WC orange hypo lines ;)

There is an orange hypo male here for sale for 400 bucks...what are they really worth? This at a local highly regarding reptile shop, so I know 400 for this young male is too much, but whats the real price?

It depends on the quality. A lot of them are just faded, not orange. here's a nice example of what IMO is good looking for orange ghost:

Orange Ghosts are the simple recessive equal to the Pastel, mix it with any other morph, and the cross looks better than the original.

Not so long ago, a female Ghost was $2500, so most Ghosts were produced by Ghost male x Het female. This breeding did not produce a ton of them each year, in relation to the Co Dom Pastel. The price stayed pretty high for females for a long time, so people might have been buying cheaper morphs until recently when they became more affordable. I produced my first Hatchling Ghosts last year.

As far as ulgy Ghosts, I have seen some less than stellar ones, but never an ugly one. Maybe Canada is hoarding them? Maybe there is an underground railroad to sneak all the American produced Hypos to Canada?

Anyways, the Hypo gene is alive and well in my collection....I really dig em.
