Stupid PetCO!!!!

You all have to consider that coporate knows and thinks that if one store is setting a bad example, they all are. So if you go to district manager or even higher, then chances are something will get done and the person in question may get more required training and/or she may be dealt with accordingly. They wont fire the employee, but rather if a customer is that concerned for the well being of the animals, then coporate will listen and contact the store in which your concerned with.

That being said, PetCo really doesn't care that much about their animals, why do you think they can have 5 or 6 ball pythons in the same cage? At PetSmart we have rules that prohibit employees from putting anymore than 2 ball pythons or 3 corn snakes in the same tank. We also rarely have 2 ball pythons in the same tank. Also we use hides in all of our tanks no matter if its better for sales or not. This is the way Petco needs to think, but unfortunately it will take time cause they have been this way for years and years!!

Ive been working at a petco in ny in the fish department and made it my business to shape up the reptile department a swell. Its a shame how little the people who worked there knew. Well i jus made head of both departments and I have alot of control and say in health and husbandry matters so things are looking great and thats rewarding for me. Since I show enthusiasm the managers now show it too. And when I hand over a snake to a customer this site gets written on there sales slip. Happy pets = happy me;). and yes People who have no genuine passion for best interest of an animal should not have anything to do with the pets at a pet store.
