Thanks! I have been looking over the site alot today and you guys have filled it with great info. I have 4 Asian Ratsnakes on the top of my to get list and I'm hoping someone can point me to Caresheets or First had experiances with them.

    Rhino Ratsnake ((Rhinoceros Ratsnake))
    Thai Red Mountain Ratsnake
    Chinese Red Bamboo Ratsnake
    Mandarin Ratsnake

I should probably start with a few Corns and a king. King in his own cage of course, but I just love love love those 4 ratsnakes in all the pictures and videos I have seen. So I'm torn.

The Herp room is a slow moving project but it's making headway. It was just an abandoned garage seperate from the house. So You know, gotta wire insulate, cover the garage doors, probably get a ceiling and new windows to. Lotta DIY work on the weekends but it will pay off when my little guys are happy (And away from the cats and TV which I doubt they will be nuts about).

Ratsnakes are usually not too finicky about husbandry, and so long as you have a heat source with an 77-80F ambient and a warm side of about 85F you should be good.
Also, aspen bedding is good, tubs and tanks are also good. I don't recommend keeping more than one snake in an enclosure, no matter what the species.
I would keep humidity at a 50-60% range and you'd be set. I would see if you can do some searches for those specific species and see if they need any other heat specifications or anything else like that.

    Good luck!

I found that, how do you measure humidity? I'm also wondering how to create an effective heat range. Here are the other two species I was wanting to start with.

Thanks for the help. I am really nervous because I had someone tell me asian ratsnakes Are for experianced handlers. But the vendor I talked to said his rhinos were some of the easiest he ever raised. I realize I could probably start on something easier. I do like corns and kings alot. But these asian guys are really becoming my passion. I love reading about them.

Humidity is best acquired by using aspen bedding and spraying every night or so. I use a $10 accurite digital thermometer/hygrometer combo to measure the humidity. Works perfectly.
Digital thermometers with probes also work well to put under the substrate for accurate tempertures.

Using a under tank heater is the best type of heating method and works the best for a proper gradient. Get a thermostat or rheostat to hook up to the UTH. If the different ratsnakes all need the same heat on the warm side, you can hook up multiple UTH's of the same type to the thermostat instead of buying a new one each time. That way you can buy a 60 dollar reliable thermostat without having to worry about anything.
