Ok, ok, curling is also one of 'our' sports. Yes, it does lack the edge that more intense sports provide, but you gotta play it once or twice to appreciate it fully. I think Canada won that too....(maybe just for mens).
Re: Who cares about Olympic Hockey?
Actually, this was the first Olympics that I really got to see it. I had heard it mentioned in previous Olympics, but only saw short clips of it. At least now I have a basic understanding of the game, but I still don't understand the scoring. Here, the NBC network was the only one showing the games and one day the announcer said,"Today, we'll be bringing you curling all day. That's us, NBC, Nothing But Curling." I almost fell off the couch laughing. For the record, I think the most brutal hockey game I watched was Russia vs. Czech Republic. Seemed like a little bad blood being settled there...
I would like to fling one of those curling stones down the ice like a bowling ball... call it Hurling...

Well, that is definitely not like the game of "Hurling" we used to play when I was a kid growing up in Texas. It was also known as "Biscuits and Pies". Basically there would be 2 teams and you would hurl biscuits and pies at each other. If you got hit in the mouth then you were out. The last team remaining would win. No, I'm not refering to biscuits and pies, as in food. Think about Texas, horses and cows. Let's just say that I learned to wash my own clothes at an early age, since my mom refused to do it...
Re: Who cares about Olympic Hockey?
I always thought the game of hurling was played after a long night of drinking. :8: :P
