Re: Have you ever been bitten by a feeder??
I have been bitten by a mouse once that one of my snakes did not want to eat. I had to lift it out of the snake's enclosure because he refused to eat it.

We have a very large rodent farm in Colorado, so I handle lots of rodents a day.

So for me, more bites from Mice, like several a day some times.
Rat bites are the worse, tear the skin, and become infected.
Snake bites not so many, but I do still have part of my right hand that tingles. A big argentine boa got me REAL GOOD.

A few times but it is rare and I can tell you that if it happens it will be the last thing they ever do.

I have a zero tolerance policy so if a breeder bites me he is fed off immediately.

Never by a rat. But I raise ASF's for my feeders and I have a few times. Twice by a protective dad. Any of the youngsters that "act" like they are going to bite are never keep as breeders and always the first to get fed.

Re: Have you ever been bitten by a feeder??
When I first started breeding rats I had a few protective females that would bite. They had a 2 bite rule-after that they were food. Now no one bites, kinda interesting to think of genetic traits like that

I have a grey hooded female that likes to bite and I would like to feed her off, but she is raising some of my tailless hets at the moment.

I will start worrying about the biters after I have some more females to work with. I only had six females to put on this project so I kind of needed her.

A small rat once got me really good, he bit down on my finger tip and instead of letting go he kept flexing his jaws and biting deeper. It took about 4 seconds to yank him off, I couldn't feel much in the tip of my finger for a few months.

I feed frozen/thawed so no rodent bites yet!

However my chameleon's food has bitten me. :(
    Superworms bite hard!
