say i took the styrofoam box put some papper towels in it a hide water bowel then put my screen lid over it with my light the box is half the size of the 10gal and could prob fit in it would that hold more heat?

what type of substrate are you using and how thick is it?
If your house is cold. Turn up the heat. Those rain forest UTH are low watt and work better in warmer rooms. The Exo-Terra Desert is a higher wattage UTH and heats up better...

cypress mulch about a inch maybe two in some places i'm going to get a dessert or zoo med tomorrow
