Just and update, I've got the cage covered with a towel. I've got better hides on the way.
I'm going to give him at least 3 more days before I try feeding and at least 5 more days before I try handling.
One more question, now that his cage is covered won't he stress out when I uncover it in a week or so?

Quick update, here's a picture of his setup, minus the towel covers.

The warm side is 94, the cool side is 82. Ambient temp is 77-80.
AND HE JUST ATE FOR ME!!! I'm so happy. I'll give him a couple days before I try and take him out for the first time. (Hopefully he won't bite me)
