i would make sure your female is 100% healthy before even attempting to breed. Breeding is a very stressful time for them, the female especially because her body has to do most of the work (growing follicles,ovulation, laying, etc).
that eye, in that picture dosen't look good. it does have a dent which will dissapear once the humidity is good, but there looks to be something else going on with it. have you tried to remove the cap in any way?

Yes I have, used the baby oil and q tip, worked wonders on her other eye. I just called the local herp vet and im going to take her in later this week. could it be an infection? I just thought about that a little while ago.
oh an update on the humidity, its sitting pretty at 65% has been since last night. apprentlly covering the vent and putting the new substrate down did good. :D i keep it misted/wet at least every day.

baby oil and qtips are fine. if its just a retained cap it will come off with the next shed. i've seen animals with as many as 5 layers of retained caps come off fine with no damage to the eye after waiting for the next shed.
i'd suggest a vet if you even suspect there may be an infection. we can't really diagnose that over the net.
