Re: blue tongue skink issues
His mouth may be sore or he may simply not be hungry. Mine doesn't eat every day. Others I have had do the same. Often they will eat several days in a row, then skip a few then eat, then not.
Babies tend to eat more often than adults. So long as there is no weight loss I wouldn't worry if he goes a couple/three days on occasion without eating.

do i do this everyday?
Re: blue tongue skink issues
You should for 3 to 5 days. If there is no more cheese or swelling he'll probably be ok.
Be sure to be aggressive in your cleaning. Give a squeeze above the infected area, like you would a needing-to-be-popped pimple, to be sure you're getting all the gunk out. If you don't an infection could set in. It sounds worse than it actually is. Just clean it out good and you should be ok.

Re: blue tongue skink issues
my skink has a r.i i need to know what to give him.. vet isnt an option atm.. is amoxicilin the bitic they give them?
Re: blue tongue skink issues
A month ago this thread was started for a mouth issue, and now the animal is (still) sick with a RI? And a vet still isnt an option??
Either get it to a vet, or give it away to someone who can (and will) afford it.
Just my two cents.

Hate to double post, but this post was created recently. Please take note of point #3.

well like everyone ur two cents is cool lol but really no one will take a insane skink who bites anything that touches him lol so if i dont get the info i need to treat him hes going to die.. and atm i dont really care since if i cant play with him i dont need to spend the money to keep his lights on... or buy his baby food lol so is the biotic amoxicilin? because i have some of that... do i put it in his mouth or does he need injects?
Re: blue tongue skink issues
So you have turned the lights off on this skink because you cant play with him? Dont you think this will make its health worse? How are you maintaining the 95-100f baskinng spot BTS need?
Theres no point in medicating if you have already given up on basic husbandry.
As far as your question, the medication should say how to apply it. Meds taken oraly or externally can not be injected and vice versa. If it is infact a RI then you will need injections of 'something'. What the medication is, is usually dictated by a culture test done by a vet. This is all regurged information however, as I have no first hand experience with having to give reptiles meds.
I wish your skink luck. I wish for some things for yourself as well. Not as nice as the skink though.
