Re: How do You guys do it...?!
i normally when im taking pictures of the snakes i will leave them in there tub when there out and the normally stay still so i can take the pictures. Ive found handing them or putting them on the bed only makes them want to free roam the room.
Re: How do You guys do it...?!
Here is a lil trick. Shhhhh
Get a bowl they both can fit under. keep them there for 30 seconds they will chill and eyes will get used to dark.
Then you lift bowl they will stay still for 10 seconds aprox. while their eyes adjust to light.
In those 10 seconds you tak as many pics as you can.. lol
Good luck and nice looking snakes:gj:

Here's another trick on top of that - get a METAL bowl that they can both fit in and put it in the freezer. Put them under the COLD metal bowl for 30 secs to a minute and they will stay put for a little bit.
No - it's not cruel, and yes, this tip was shared with me with some veteran breeders. I've not tried it yet myself, but sure have been tempted to on occassion (I just don't have a metal bowl - LOL)!

This does work! You may need to use a small box and hold it over them for a little longer. They will calm down and may even coil up. Have your camera on a tripod already in position and if you can have another person slowly lift the box while you are in position with the camera and start shooting pictures! Post some pictures and show us how it worked!
Good luck,
Dave

Ditto! I have tried that and it works great in most cases!
Re: How do You guys do it...?!
I'm gonna try the bowl thing when I get some spare time during the day. And If it works I guess I'll be buying a metal bowl lol. :D
Re: How do You guys do it...?!
do it in the morning when they are sleepy :D
Re: How do You guys do it...?!
I hate taking pictures of adults or subadults....they never sit still. Your picture shows nice contrast though. The pastel is pretty (very clean) and the axanthic's color (or lack there of) is right on. Is the axanthic Barker stock?
Re: How do You guys do it...?!
Try placing a hide over it for a few minutes and then take it off...

you never have to touch the cam once it's set up..
Or get a second person to help. ;)
