You've gotten some pretty good answers so I won't go over everything. The one thing I didn't see mentioned is that it is perfectly ok to feed your snake 2 or more mice in one feeding. Feeding 2 mice in one feeding is generally preferred over feeding 2x/wk. You offer the first mouse as usual, then once he is totally done swallowing the first, and has reset his jaw, you offer the second.

I don't really recommend using google to search for answers to these kinds of questions. It can be very hard for a beginner to know what is good information and what isn't. Searching this forum is a good idea though. You have to be logged in to search, and you can find the search button on the dark blue bar (might be a different color depending on what theme you have selected) that starts with "Portal" "User CP" etc.

The thing about Googling BP info is that most of the Google hits are links to threads on this forum...

Hey Tizzle......I might also suggest checking out the care sheet for BP's that are on this site. It is a super great read and really helped me A LOT when I was new to this. I attached the link below for you.

alright so.. i bought 4 female mice and 2 males.. i tryd to handle 1 of the males and he decided to bite me.. so out of my rage instead of killing it myself i put it in izzys cage and i woke him up and put him on his log... within mins he spots the mouse running around and he goes off on his hunt... i just wanted to scare the poor thing but.. izzy was to fast for me to even react{didnt really want to save the mouse} but in the long run the mouse tryd to bite him so i had to hold the back of his neck so he couldnt get those nasty teeth on izzy..

long story short.. i dont think it is quick and painless to die by a snake.. he took almost 2 mins for this mouse to die.. and before it did its eye... well izzy squezed really hard...

but from now on its live food over the f/t

was really cool cuz when he killed it he let it go and then i picked it up and he just puts his head up in the air and opens his mouth.. and let me put it in there.. then he does the rest... imo we made a good team lol

I would recommend that you do not help your snake out. Sometimes after they kill the rodent they will let go and reposition for the actual ingestion. Its perfectly normal and you could end up spoiling a perfectly good feeding by getting involved.

ah but heres the thing.. the mouse was being coiled around and of course when this happens its going to bite and it was i noticed this and i pulled the scruff of his neck to pull his mouth off my snake.. if i didnt the same thing that happend to me would have happend to him

Forgive me, I may be misreading this, so I'm gonna answer what I think I'm interpreting.

Your snakes poo should look like poo. Brown, shaped like a log and smelly. Sometimes you can see fur in it. Should be firm, not runny.

If it comes out looking like a rotten mouse, it means he's not digesting well. Poor digestion could be from temperatures that are too low.

Baby snakes leave smaller poos, not a cause for alarm.
