The snake, wether free or not, was part of the deal. It was in the same box. If it was a packing issue then it greatly endangered the life of the other snake as well. By compensate I dont mean return pay for a free snake. A second normal or some other arrangement could be made. Or reimbursment for the shipping?
Maybe its just me but I dont believe its ok to just let it go only because the snake was a free normal.. It was free and the other one was near heat stroke but its ok.. Its all good. No big deal
Seriously. How many other breeders (if confronted about this and you shipped these snakes) would just tell the customer.. Well I'm sorry to hear that but it was the free one so there is nothing I can do..
Just doesnt seem right to me. The OP's girlfriend got all excited about having a snake to take care of. Her snake arrived hot and dead.. The breeder cant afford to send another free snake?
Thats my rant. Its an animal. It matters.
Re: New arrivals! or arrival i should say
OMG were the heat packs under the snakes like that? In direct contact with the snake bags??
Free or not, I would be contacting the "breeder"
Thats not proper packaging. That is why your snake was dead. Keep an eye on your other one to be sure he didnt suffer any damage from the heat exposure.
Re: New arrivals! or arrival i should say
I'm sorry - FedEx had nothing to do with the death of that snake. The piss poor pack job of the person you purchased from was the direct cause of the death of that snake. In fact, he didn't even use heat packs that were designed for shipping reptiles, and he laid them directly on top of one of the snakes.
I personally would like to know who the seller is.
A single 40 hour heat pack, taped to the top of a PROPER styrofoam top, in a PROPER double sided cardboard box with PROPER foam inserts and the animals would have arrived alive.
Sorry that you lost one. :(

Yep! They were exactly underneath them! Not taped to the top or bottom like most of the other ones i've seen
