Awesome! I wish I had as much room to keep them as you lol....

The colors of the male Suriname is just awesome and the size of the female just dwarfs the male!

They are all awesome examples, I like the colors of that Hog Island male too ;)

You saw pics of my 2 youngsters on here not that long ago. Suri's can vary but they should always have the same basic look and traits that no other boa's have.

My female looks like Jimisnakes female. She has much more pink along her sides and a crimson tail. My male looks like his male. A more creamy look. I went with a russo line suri because his tend to throw striped babies and have less pepper spots. My female came from a different breeder because of all her pink.

Like many other boas, they can change color from one minute to the next too. Some days my female is very pink. Other days she looks like she crawled through charcoal. Its really neat to see the different day/night/mood color changes.

If you get a BCC just be choosy. Talk to breeders. Tell them what you want exactly. Find one that is already calm and easy to handle. Then just handle it regularly and you will never have anything to worry about.

My male is a 2 1/2 ft handfull because he is so skittish. I have to work very slowly and consistently with him. He is getting better though. The female will just curl up in my lap and stay there. You want one like that right off the bat.

Dont worry. You'll find what your looking for and when you do you'll be in love  :snake:

I been reading alot these last 2 days, I think I have a better understanding of the different colorations of the same Boa.

There is not a very detail Boa Caresheet here in bp.net, Specialy when it comes to details like Boa changing colors from one day to the other, I always had a vague Idea that Boas went through just an "Age color chage" and then stayed like that color.

Finding info in different sites and putting it together has taken me some time. Im still learning, but Surinames have realy caught my eye, specialy as my first Boa.

    Re: Requesting Boa Info Please
Well I've been reading alot about boas now. I even looked into BCIs and morphs. There are some nice BCI morphs, but I realy wasnt into them while I was ready about them and looking at pics. The only one I liked was the Anery.

So I've realy come to the conclusion that I want a Suriname preferably or an Anery, either way the Anery would be a good learning Boa, since I've never had one. Male either way. Now to the issue of IBD and my BPs. How would I go about finding a "IBD free" Boa breeder?

    Thanks. :)

If you really like the grey color on Boas take a look at BCI Anerys, Ghost and Motleys! The Colombian Boas tend to stay smaller than most BCC too!:gj:

    Re: Requesting Boa Info Please
Thats tricky. Any new boa you get should be kept in a seperate enclosure preferably in a different room from the BP's for at least 3 months. If you're worried about IBD then look for a baby that is an 08' or early 09'. Babies are more like to show signs early on so if its from a decent breeder that does not constantly swap out their animals like a dealer does, you shouldnt have anything to worry about. Getting one that is at least 6 months old or more will be more likely to be healthy if it is from the breeder that produced it and has been taken care of.

You shouldnt even have to worry about IBD if you buy from a good breeder though. Regardless of age. Just check the BOI on fauna for any breeder you may buy from.

    Re: Clavamox Cat!
Mine was labled as a Peruvian when I purchased it through Exotic Reptile Jungle. She changes colors daily. I have not quite figured it out yet, but sometimes she will be on the lighter side of grey and at other times, be more brown.

    She's currently 38" and just a doll.

Good luck in your search! I wanted a hogg island but they just didn't have the personality I was looking for. When we found Eve, we just fell in love.

Oh wow why did you revived this thread LOL. Now I want that RTB bad again!

As far as BCCs I really like the male suris colors and muscular bodies.

and as far as BCI morphs aneries seem pretty cool. But I would most likely just get a suri.

At least I've made my choice now. But still at this point in my life I dont have a permanent home and Im scared I will get my self in too deep by getting a RTB.

I might just find out Jimi Snakes address and go rob him of his male Suri from the pictures he posted!

    Thanks though!
