There are poisonous animals. Toxins are poisons producing by living things. Both plants and animals may contain toxins. Venoms are toxic secretions that have a delivery system (bite, sting, etc). Animals such as the Fugu (blowfish) contain toxins in certain organs in their bodies--thus, the animal is poisonous (or toxic), not venomous.
Poison dart frogs are also toxic, not venomous. The slow loris blurs the line--toxin-secreting patches on its elbows are rubbed over its fur and its offspring's fur to provide a defense against predators. The animal can, however, lick these patches, giving it a bite containing toxins (thus a sort of venom, since it has a system to deliver the toxin).

I know its ridiculous. I knew most of the comments were going to be like that. I was hoping a lot of us here could stand behind him and show some facts in the comments.

Thank you to everyone who did.

I commented too. Whats up with the hipocrites who think certain pets are superior to others? That we can have this kind of pet but not that kind?

We are all partial to certain animals. We are all afraid or creeped out by some type of animal somewhere. But those of us here know that we have no right to say you cant have a snake because Im afraid of them and they are evil...

    "HERES YOUR SIGN!"

Thats all I can think about when I think of people like that :8: :weirdface

People are simply afraid of the unknown. If there were more shows and opportunities for people to see just how nice exotics can be, then they will usually come around.

My mother went from almost having a heart attack when she came to 'see it' (my boa), to walking around the house with it around her neck while making Xmas dinner. Timespan? 4 months. I never pushed her into it, I let her see how well behaved a large snake can actually be and she took the steps on her own.

Later when my boa had a litter of babies, she was so estatic you'd a thought my mom had grandchildren!
