A UTH would work great, just so long as your ambient temperatures will stay above 78 to 80. I keep mine between 81 and 82.

Remember though, too high or low of temps can cause them to go off feed.

I have a few animals that are the size of yours, and they dont even get a hot spot. Just ambient temps of the 81 to 82 and they're just fine.

Instead of the heatlamp would it be better if i switched to UTH?

yes as has been said by 2kdime UTH would be best but if its a glass tank beware of creating too much humidity with them they are hard to keep stable.

Also as you are trying different things/eliminating each possible cause, be careful not to try several things at once so you can keep track of what actually made a difference and what didn't.

Remember the word patience as you will be a master at it dealing with bloods after a time ;)

The aggressive one may never recover suitable tameness but you wont know if you don't try will you and I have had a fair few aggressive snakes over the years and most came round.

These were mostly poorly kept snakes that became too much for their owners and I took them in I have never had a snake from a hatchling become aggressive in my care unless I made a mistake to provoke it that is :D

Good luck though and I would consider it a learning project for you as you will become much more aware after working with them.
