The answer is simple.Since God created everything he did not need to wait until the eggs hatched. So the snake came first :P

If your religious, then you will say the snake seeing God created all animals at once in pure form.

If your not, then it all depends on WHAT u consider a "snake" evolution states that things evolved from one organelle. Sooo at what point in the evolutionary tree did the first snake come to be. My guess would have to be the egg b/c for a snake to come to b/c we see vestigial structures on the snake that were either deformities or weaned out. Most likely than not a mutant something was born without a leg or 2 or with shorter and shorter legs. So the first "snake" would have to be from an EGG. As evolution happens in generations not to a species as it's living to something had to be born as a snake to be a snake.

    Take your pick

The egg. Because according to harry potter, the baskalisk ( For those who do not know... a giant deadly snake...) is hatched from a chickens egg that is incubated under a toad.

    So HA

Not really, live bearers could just be more evolved.

Well, in MY house, the snake(s) came first - then the eggs!

You didn't say in what situation the snake or the egg came first! Right? Right?????

My reasoning follows simple evolutionary theory: At some point, something that was not quite a snake hatched out a mutated offspring that was, officially, a snake. That little mutant baby did well, and before you know it he was fathering (or mothering, I'm not sexist with my theoretical mutant snake babies) all over the place.

The first snake obviously survived better than that freaky snake with the one leg. Otherwise we'd all be breeding the fantastic Peg-Legged Pythons.

i was going to post the same thing ,lol.
