Bloods can show little to a lot of change over the 1st 3 years where it generally settles down. It varies from snake to snake but in my experience in general there is not a huge amount of change.

As far as their heads go I don't think it is known why although various speculation exists including for mating purposes etc.

All I know is that they have the ability to alter the color or shade of their heads as I have seen it many times over the20 odd years of keeping snakes and being around them. And I have seen it throughout the year not just in breeding season etc

Maybe someone else has a more scientific answer but as far as I know there isn't one.

yes its their proper size and I would say they are pretty big but that's an average size for large brongersmai.

No they are not overweight :colbert:I am very careful about maintaining a healthy snake in every aspect, and feeding ( especially with bloods) is something I monitor in relation to their well being size etc Bloods have an above average feeding response imo and will take as much as they can manage if you let them. That's not something I would ever consider with any snake let alone one that has a substantial appetite like a blood.

On average my bloods get fed every 14 days on Large Rats and on occasion I will give them a medium sized rabbit which lasts them for 4 weeks roughly.

The female is not gravid nor fat she is just a typical blood she has a bit growing still to do yet.

I will take some more recent pics over the next week as most of them are older pics and the female is larger than the male male now.

some one lied to you then :D I have seen various sizes of bloods and even close on 8ft but thats pretty rare. I have'nt measured mine for a while but the male was well over 5ft long in those pics which is a good size for any blood.

I may try and run a tape measure over them tomorrow when I take some more pics :D
