    Hi,

I agree on the vet visit and that it looks like a burn. :(

I would double check the temps and if your thermostat has failed. I would move him onto paper towels as a substrate.

One thing to rule out first - was his belly redder than you would expect during shed or did it just look the normal pink colour? What temp was the water you soaked him in?

The reason I ask is just the amount of his belly that seems to be affected. :(

Looks like a tstat went haywire... I'd say he was 1/2 to 3/4 over it when it got too hot, hence the burn being only on his belly and not all the way up and down. If it is a burn that is. Either way that is really ashame, he needs a vet visit like now! In the meantime, get the temps correct if that was the problem, put him on wet paper towls and put some antibiotic free ointment like A&D on his belly. I really hope you get it sorted out and he is ok. Let us know how it turns out.

Looks like a burn, 84ºF water isn't really that warm, in fact is is much cooler than I'd be happy to bath in, but I am not a snake. Get them to a vet! Always check your temps, I spot check 2 a day and really carefully one or twice a week. If I soak mine again a good thermometer in the water!! Good Luck!!

I have put him on paper towels for now and applied some ointment to his belly. I do not think it is the water that he was it, the temp I had it as was lukewarm at best if not a little cool. I do suspect it was an UTH malfunction after rechecking it today it does not seem to be functioning correctly.

So far I've had it on lowest settings and this just so happen to be at a very bad time because I just moved to a new city. I found a new Herp vet today and scheduled a vet visit for their earliest time.

PS. if anyone lives in the Central Florida: Orlando area and knows a reputable Herp vet please let me know i would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you all again for the input Wall-e and I both really appreciate it.
