    Re: Breeding question
OK another question. My orignal group has had two litters first on on 12/22/09 all dead at 4 days old. She has not droped another litter and doesn't look prego, 2nd litter born on12/30/09 mom doesn't look prego either. I weand the litter on 1/20/10 all healthy. Is my male not doing his job or am I just trying to rush them?

With the 1.2 groups you will have:

1.) A more consistent baby dropping schedule every three weeks
    2.) Faster growing, healthier kids.
3.) Less food waste per produced kid.
4.) Highest number of kids per breeder female per month.

The way you changed the groups is fine but you still want to hold back the first babies they produce and completely replace each group as soon as possible. They will never get along as good or produce as good as a group that hasn't been tampered with since they started producing.

I can back that up. I started withh a 1.2 and kept track of production. Its in a thread here somewhere...consistent every 26 days I would have a new litter. Second colony I started was a 1.3. They all dropped litters, the last litter dropped was eaten within 12 hours. Then there was a lull in production until I fed off one of the females. 1.3 is nice, but 1.2 seems to function better.
