9 days is nothing! Leave him alone for 1 week! No handling or disburbing him! Usually it will take at least 2 weeks or up to a month before they settle in. Just keep repeating this weekly schedule until he eats! Once he eats then feed every 5 days! Don't stress! He will eat for you when HE is good and ready! I know for a new bp owner, it is very stessful when they won't eat but he will come around if due time! Good luck!

He's only about 175g and 6 months old so Im guessing its not the breeding issue. Thanks again for the help. I will repost on my next attempt.

I offer my new ball pythons a frozen thawed mouse for the 1st meal and most of the time they take it right away. Very rarely do i need to start them off with live. Wait a few days then get a F/T, let it defrost for a few hours, then put it (should be in a ziplock) in a bowl of warm/hot water for 20 minutes. Take it out, let it sit on a paper towel to remover any extra water, and offer to the snake. Take out the hides when you do this. If you wait a few days he should get hungry enough to take it.
