Re: How to Identify a Yellow Belly
From what I cna see of the belly on the snake on the right, I would say that one is definitely a normal.
If he cannot provide belly shots, then I would assume he is scamming you and they are both normals.

The one on the right in that photo does not have any of the YB belly markers that I can see.

I think those are both normals. I agree they just don't have any of the yellowbelly characteristics that I look for.

    Normal Burm - $65-85
Adult Yellow Belly pair - A couple hundred

Look like normals to me. But an adult female will usually run about $50-100 so not a bad deal if you want one. He is also holding them by the tail (just something to think about).

from the picture he sent you there i would say normals just from the pattern. they don't really have the characteristic yellowbelly look to them.
heres a old picture of my yellowbelly male for comparison.

really you need more pictures of the snakes before true judgement can be made. really need a picture of the belly. also yellowbellys will usually have a spot on the head or a lighter head. to an untrained eye it is very difficult to tell a normal from a yellowbelly.

Those do not appear to be yellow bellies. Definitely get better pics from him. From what I can see, the heads are wrong, the coloration is wrong, the side pattern (flaming) is wrong and from what I can see of the belly, it's wrong, too. He may not be scamming you on purpose. Maybe he got duped when he picked them up. A female yellow belly at that size is worth some nice coin, too.

The simple fact that those are the pics that were sent to identify YBs says a lot... when you are getting a YB you get a side shot, head shot, belly shot... not a snake dangling at random shot.

I know this seems like another post to your thread saying "Yellowbelly", but I would like to give my opinion.

There are Yellowbellies that do look extremely similar to normals, but these two snakes in the picture tell me nothing to be Yellowbellies. Yellowbellies have reduced patterns, flames, pattern on the sides of the belly (which I do not see from the angle of the snake on the left), and the heads of those snakes just say normal.

    I want a pair of breedable yb's for a couple hundred :P

I agree they appear to be normals, not yb's
