Re: hides in tubs?
I just build my rack and is dark and closed in except the front and I wanted to make sure, the only thing is I purchased a male (10.09) from a local breeder and I have him in a 6qt and could not find anything to use as a hide, especially 2 of them. Also I just adopted a large female from one of the members here (ebecrew610) and I have her in a 32 qt. The temps are looking good, 98 hot side, 77 ambient, 87 humidity (male) 67 (female). should i poke more holes in the 6qt tub? they are balled up all day, thats a good sign right? I have the probes taped to the flexwatt, is that ok? the 6qt is right on top of the probe and when i take the tub out the temp drops a little, is that normal? the 32qt is right next to the probe since i cant fit the tub over it. sorry for the long post

Re: hides in tubs?
98 is too hot get it down between 90-94 on the hot side and get humidity 50-60% if you need to drill more holes to get it there i would drill a few and see how it goes then drill more if needed and do that till you get it right

Re: hides in tubs?
I use a hide in my racks and remove it when they reach a few hundred grams.

Re: hides in tubs?
Depends on their eating habits.

Re: hides in tubs?
If the tubs are in an enclosed, except for the front, rack system, then in my opinion it is not necessary. If the sides are of the rack are open, or if there is no rack at all, then in my opinion it is necessary.
