Stacking tubs without a rack?

I think you're asking for problems doing it this way. Unless you have a thermostat for each tub, you run the risk of run-away temps. Go buy a shelving unit at Home depot and set up a cheap rack. This would be better than overheating your snakes.

Sure, some can make an argument for this being safe, but I bet no one can give you a money back guarrantee.

I do not like having heat above and below every tub, except the very top tub. An overheating problem could easily become a problem, one that could kill a snake or two before you could catch it.

Ok, so why not just tape a foot of flexwatt on ur wall and then stack them at least they will get back heat. I use a rack and belly heat but I don't see why this wouldn't work.

This will not work as walls are hollow with air flowing though them which in turn cause the flexwatt to cool down

Honestly I wouldn't stack them ontop of each other like this. You run the risk of overheating and another problem you might not've thought about is the fact that you will be disturbing the heat source when you have to move each tub to get to a certain snake, possibly losing the probe in the process.

This is what I did, go to walmart's shelving area and get the small bookshelf for $20. Cheap 'rack'.

sarin, what the leingh of the shelf, and how many tubs can you fit

If I remember correctly it's something like 15" x 28"? And it really depends on how many shelves you get with your bookshelf.

You can get custom shelves to fit in there and I would say probably 3-4 32 quarts would fit. Lid on though.
