I don't think that ball pythons really ever do much damage to each other in the process of showing their dominance with another male. It comes down to a strength issue from what I know.
However...... I think that pairing up to males for a brawl probably is not going to be helpful at all. The stress on the looser may not get you what your looking for in the long run. Heck, the stress on the winner may be detrimental as well.

I think sheds and sperm plugs are the way to go.

Its like hitting the lotto its 50/50. you can get chance at both or none and get all normals. I double sire every year and have not yet to get a double sired clutch.

Double sired clutches are pretty common but it doesn't reduce your odds for normals, I actually had my first triple sire clutch this year.

Just one more note on battling males. The Barkers reported in their book, that sometimes, the male that gets dominated may never go on to breed even years later, because it affects his confidence that much. Not worth it for my boys.

had a male that i called "gay" for a while and after listening to this episode on reptile radio http://www.blogtalkradio.com/reptile...o-be-announced i tried combating him with a male i know is a good breeder,i only left them together for maybe 2 or 3 minutes ... 3 days later my gay male is no longer gay. If you don't want to give that a shot because of the stress it can cause try your stubborn male with a different female. Sometimes they just don't like a particular girl.
