You said you had a UTH on Medium-Low setting. To me that sounds liek your using a Human heat pad. If this is the case then that needs to be replaced ASAP withsomthing for reptiles.

I have heard of a few UTHs that come with built in rheostats. But they only have a few different settings.

or if you are using a UTH made by zoo med and a rheostat made by zoo med, with just newspaper in the tank, these rheostats still give too much power to the UTH and they are too hot even on the lowest setting. On the lowest setting mine would run 100 degrees F or better,I used a temp gun to check it with. I had a few of them and they don't cut the power back very much. Used a volt meter and was amazed on how little the voltage dropped. Put your hand in the tank over the UTH, remember it's going to be a lot hotter to the snake than to you.

personally, I think that if you just got him yesterday, and just set everything up yesterday, this is all just due to the stress of being moved. i would give him about a week to settle down. this means no handling him, and don't try to feed him either. if in a week he is still cruising, i would attribute it to stress, or the temps not being suitable.
