Re: My Incubator all set up and full of tubs
Well it isn't about the money at all. I was given this method by a fellow herper and ball breeder that has used this exact set up for 6 yrs and has yet to have a problem and has had 100% hatch rate. So I figured I would give this way a try. It seems to work just fine so far as I had it running for a few days to get my temps set. And about the heater needing oxygen........IDK but it may I know that once the heater hets up the freezer it barely ever turns on unless I keep onpening up the door. But believe me I will have everything I need (herpstat, flexx etc.) incase I don't like it or something goes astray. I will keep everyone posted on how well it worked.

I am sure you will probably be fine with that setup. I personally would not trust an entire years clutch on a cheap thermostat but that is up to you. Just like I would not use one of those BAH-1000 t-stats on my snakes. I know you said you will be ready to change things if something goes astray, but if that heaters t-stat gets stuck in the on position your eggs may be cooked before you have a chance. I would at least hook up the heater to a ranco or johnson on/off type t-stat just as a backup in case the heater fails. Good luck either way.
