    defects caused by line breeding require a recessive defect to already be present. sure you can't know if ones there or not, but to put a number on how many generation you can go....well you can't know, really it can happen in 2 generations or 1 generation breeding back to the parent.

    my rat colony started from 1 male and 3 females and I got to be on 15 generations of line breeding by now. nothing wrong with them yet. still making snake food.
