No, it will. But it will take a lot to fill 8 gig. I'm just saying the ipod is a seperate application on the phone, you actually have to open it, so it's not like you have an mp3 player with phone capabilities, it's the opposite!

    X 50!!! lol
I have actually started to use my Droid for music more than my iPod, it sounds much better. It really doesn't kill the battery too much. Oh, I know it's a totally different phone (and network) but the theory is similar. I find it easier to use one device instead of two. My friend who sits next to me at work uses her AT&T phone (not iPhone) and iPod touch separately though...it's just whatever you find works best for you.

I feel your pain with the duo, I had one and it was the worst phone i've ever had. I had all the same problems as you plus freezing, and super slow operation.
I finally just bought a new phone and took out my anger on the stupid duo lol.
I would go with just an iphone, theres no point in spending the extra on an ipod touch too.

Me and my wife both just got an iphone 16gb 3gs. I also have a 5th generation 30gb ipod video. What I did was put a play list of the songs I really like on my iphone and a few of the videos I really like on there too for when I don't have my ipod (I don't take my ipod every where but I do take my phone everywhere. If I am going to be listening to a lot of music or going to the gym or whatever I use my ipod to save the battery and the ware and tear on my iphone. So I personally still use both...

well, i have 4 iPod's (2 video) and the absolute original iPod ever released.

that being said, i only use my iphone these days.
one person said something about how they cant charge the phone while plugging into their alpine unit?

i use a griffin charger, and i have an auxiliary audio input i plug my phone into.

i prefer to only use it this way, as while i am driving if i am listening to my ipod (phone functions as both for those who dont know) and when a call comes in, the music fades, and the ringtone comes on.
i then press answer, and i have a hands free device, as the phone mic picks up my audio, and the other end i hear through my car stereo.

i have about 600$ in credits at the apple store, i thought long and hard about getting the 32gb touch, i just dont see the point.

    good luck, hope

Get an Ipod and an Iphone.

I have an Iphone and a 160GB Ipod. No reason to put music on the phone, and as stated, it will drain the batter a bit faster.

With normal use, I get about two full days out of each charge, so if you use it as your media player, that will most defiantly mean charging every night if not more often.

It just makes more sense saves more money IMO to just get the upgraded iPhone. I'm not much of an iPod/iPhone person so I probably should stay out. I'm getting the Nokia N900 for Xmas so I'll hopefully enjoy that.

for all those who say using the iphone as an ipod will drain the battery?.....
its been 16 months ive been doing this, tip to conserve battery life, keep your wifi off at all times unless you really need it.
aside from that measure, using the phone as a music player has not effected the battery in the same way i thought it would as people have mentioned.
thought i would add this info :gj:
