    I agree, looks like a texas rat snake... not all that big, the picture is very deceptive!

    Theres no way that snake is over 12 feet.

    Yeah I think its a colubrid, its thin and lanky, looks like a black rat snake

    Its a Bull snake. about 6 to7 feet Id guess

    Hard to tell with that pic but if I were just looking at the head and thick scales I would say it's similar to a Candoia asper or Viper Boa but I believe they average depending on the species 2-4 ft 5 max. They originate from the South Pacific and I'm only throwing that in because this snake was supposely found on a ship and who knows where its been.

    Not positive what it is but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.
